Beyonce Knowles Who?
Beyonce's full name is Beyonce Giselle Knowles. Her unusual first name came from her mother Tina's maiden name. Nicknames given to Beyonce by her friends include JuJu, Moth, and Bee. She has a little sister named Solange. Beyonce had a cat named Master P who died somewhat recently. She attended the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, Texas.
Beyonce Knowles began her career in show biz at a very young age. She began performing in dance recitals and the church choir at the age of seven. In 1990, Beyonce formed the singing group Destiny's Child at her home with her cousin and best friend. She was nine years
old. The group's first major exposure was appearing on Star Search, although it's believed they were actually "discovered" after this appearance by Whitney Houston. With a lot of hard work, Destiny's Child soared to the top of the charts in 1998 with "No No No" and celebrated years of success before the group disintegrated.
Beyonce went on her first solo tour in 2004, and it seems she hasn't left the spotlight since. Her first solo album is "B'Day", which was released in 2006. Beyonce isn't just a singer, though--her acting career began to take off in 2002 with a role in Austin Powers in Goldmember, and has continued with her most recent part in 2006's Dreamgirls.
