"One of the first books that ignited my passion for reading was 'Fantastic Mr. Fox' by Roald Dahl. My sister read it to me when I was 8 years old. Every night she would read me a new chapter. I loved it so much that I made her start all over again right after we completed it!"

Why should you listen to her?

Scarlett Johansson was born on November 22, 1984, in New York City and started acting right out of the gate - and she hasn’t slowed down since. After landing her first role in 1994, in the Rob Reiner-directed flop North, she made an impression on audiences and critics in her role in The Horse Whisperer with screen legend Robert Redford. She also shone as a virtual straight woman to Thora Birch’s bizarre Enid in the 2001 cult classic Ghost World. Her moving portrayal of a woman left to her own devices in Japan who forges a somewhat mysterious relationship with fading actor Bill Murray in Sofia Coppola’s Lost in Translation earned Scarlett a Golden Globe nomination, a BAFTA award and Best Actress honors at the Venice Film Festival. Her next role, as artist Johannes Vermeer’s muse in Girl with a Pearl Earring again was honored with Golden Globe and BAFTA nods.

She went on to star in the comedy-drama In Good Company with Topher Grace and Dennis Quaid, A Love Song for Bobby Long with John Travolta (earning yet another Golden Globe nomination) and even provided the voice of Princess Mindy in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie. In 2005, Scarlett’s roles ranged from the sublime (in Woody Allen’s Match Point) to the ridiculous (the sci-fi action flick The Island with Ewan McGregor). Scarlett has become a favorite actress of Woody’s, also starring in his films Scoop and the upcoming Vicky Cristina Barcelona. More recently, Scarlett has tried her hand at comedy, with The Nanny Diaries, and laced up her corset to star in The Other Boleyn Girl with Eric Bana and Natalie Portman.

If big screen success wasn’t enough, she has also become the envy of women everywhere after announcing her engagement to actor Ryan Reynolds. This stunning actress’s popularity and talent continue to grow, and with roles in Frank Miller's The Spirit and the comedy He's Just Not That Into You, audiences will continue to give a damn about this Scarlett.
